Domain management and DNS, now in the client portal

We’re improving how we look after your domain names. Starting with .co.uk domains, DNS is now fully part of the client portal, so you can see and change your records yourself.

What’s changing

For .co.uk domains managed through our new registrar connection, the DNS Management page in the client portal now edits your live records directly:

  • All the common record types. A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and CAA, plus a few specialist ones, with priorities for mail and service records.
  • Add, change and delete records from one page, without raising a ticket.
  • A clear answer when DNS lives elsewhere. If your domain uses another provider’s nameservers, the portal says so, tells you where your records are managed, and explains how to switch back.
  • DNSSEC handled for you. If a domain moves to other nameservers, we turn DNSSEC off automatically, so the move doesn’t leave your site or email unreachable.

To get there, log in to the client portal, open the domain under Domains and choose DNS Management. If you haven’t logged in before, our guide shows you how to log in to the client portal.

Do you need to do anything?

No. Your website and email carry on working throughout. If we host your website, its DNS stays where it is unless you ask us to change it.

You don’t have to manage your own DNS, either. If you’d rather we kept doing it, raise a request as you do now. The difference is that you now have the option.

If you have questions about a particular domain, get in touch.

Not sure where to start?

Most new clients start with a WordPress audit: a fixed-price review of your site’s health, security, hosting and editing set-up, with a written report and a call to talk it through. If we go on to work together, the cost is credited against your care plan.
